Babies everywhere!!!!!!! Baby Jack was so sweet...I could get used to this shooting newborn's thing !!!!!!! I have heard these story's from other photographers about how the baby cried for three hours straight,ect, well, I guess here at happygirlphotography we are just lucky because the only newborn's we have shot have been absolutely perfect!!(I think Jack may be laughing in the last shot)
The new BLOG has been having a little technical difficulty, but it should be up and running by next week.....YEA!!!!!!

It has been a crazy week but I wanted to post a sneak peek for baby Mia's
Mom and Dad.
She was so adorable, and her big sister is just in love with her! These are a little different then how I usually shoot, but I LOVE to try new things! and don't worry my new little friend, I will be back to play very soon!!
My NEW BLOG should be up and running by the end of next week, and all I can say is

It is baby week at happygirlphotography! BabyG was so sweet and so well behaved.....we could just put him anywhere and he would fall back asleep. His parents were so adorable and you can tell this baby is loved! I have to say his Dad did the best swaddling I have ever seen...I need someone like him on all my shoots!

Baby M was so adorable I could hardly stand it! And so good,any newborn who can sleep while laying on a wood shelf you know is a keeper. She is number 4 so she is already learning to go with the flow!

While I am expanding my portfolio for 2009, I am search of three newborns to help in this process. Here are a few things I am looking for ....

Baby's born between February 1st and May 1st

Baby must be photographed between 3 and 10 days old

It will be a newborn shoot only, no siblings

Shot's will be mostly bare, except for diaper cover

These shots will be used for marketing and editorial submission, so a release must be signed.

In return for allowing us to borrow your beautiful newborn, our session fee will be waived, as well as a discount on all prints, canvas, ect.

It is the day that every child photographer dreads...shooting their own children!
Why is it that you are the Pied Piper with other peoples children, but with your own, that Christmas card is life and death!!!!! I think it went pretty well this year considering only one person cried...though that might have been the driver in front of me that was going WAY TO SLOW while I am yelling "move out of the way...I am losing the light" Well, it's done, it's over, till next year!!!!
I can't post a sneek peek with both of my girls, but here is a quick shot I took of Savannah...if you call putting together an outfit, blowdrying hair, driving to three locations a quick shot...then here it is!!!

I had so much fun with this Senior!!! He is very into the arts, photography and video, so we spent the whole time just talking shop! There are certain rules for my kids that we really stick to in our house.....try to be kind to each other, think before you speak,and don't play in MOMMY'S OFFICE!So imagine my surprise when I opened up the PHOTO BOOTH application on my MAC and found about 75 different entry's of photo's and videoclips.....

first...isn't this sort of like leaving the empty container of ice cream on the kitchen
counter?
second....my 7 year old spends enough time in my office that she can create video clips
in her spare time?
I need to start paying more attention during playdates!!!!!!

So amazing and adorable! The hardest part about this time of year is that I cannot post any group pictures of the kids in case that is the shot that ends up on the Christmas card...( we do not want to upset any Mom's) it is so hard because the shots of the four of them gave off such warmth and love just cross your fingers that you are on their card list!!!! Things are becoming a little crazy-busy at happygirlphotography, so please call or email if you would like to squeeze your shoot in this Holiday Season. My cut off for shooting is November 23. THEY GROW SO FAST!

I know the saying ,"they grow so fast"is something that you hear everyday, but the older my kids get, the more true it is! At our annual swim party at our good friends Neil and Susie's house, I gathered the kids for the end of the night picture. The first one was taken exactly 6 years ago on Labor Day, the second one on Monday...THEY GROW SO FAST!!!! whether you hire a professional photographer to capture that brief moment in time, or take the pictures yourself, I encourage everyone to take pictures of your children whenever possible, you will cherish the memories!

I have been very busy editing a fantastic photo shoot I did, 7 kids with age ranging from 3 to 13. They were all adorable and were up for anything till the very end! Here are a few sneak peeks...enjoy!

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday. I want to encourage everyone today to take out their camera ( yes any camera ) and take a picture of someone you love. Life has precious moments everyday, and I for one am gulity of taking so many pictures of other peoples family's, I sometimes forget to shoot enough of my own family! You will feel blessed in ten years to look back a the picture you took today and remember what a great day it was!

It's hard to believe that is already time to start shooting seniors for 2009! Here are a few pics from my first senior of the season...is she adorable or what! She was so fun, positive and up for anything....trust me, having a photographer tell you to stand on train tracks and just keep your ears open, well, shooting with me is always an adventure!!

I was just walking back to my friends house in our neighborhood with camera in hand when one of my favorite people drove by with his grandson in the car. This was one of those moments where you thank god you are a photographer and have a camera in your hand! The look of complete happiness between grandfather and grandson just tugs at your heartstrings! Though this man has accomplished things professionally beyond most of our wildest dreams, the complete kindness within his heart is what makes him stand out in the crowd, and loved by all who know him. Cherish the small moments in your life,so often they mean so much more then the big ones!

So things come to me in the middle of the night, did I finish the laundry, did I sign the kids up for soccer...oh yea, did I look at the full page the spring/summer The Knot that was published of a wedding I shot last year??? This is a huge step for me and one I am COMPLETELY overwelmed and honored by...ok, so they accidently listed my business in Covington instead of Cincinnati, let's look at the glass half full side of this!

Ok, that whole blogging 3 times a week went right out the window......I am determined to blog more and more. I have been toying with the idea of turning in my ever faithful lens that has been with me since the beginning of happygirlphotography, for an awesome 17-55 that feels like BUTTTAAAA in my hands, those guys at the camera store must think I'm nuts when I just come in to hold things!!!! things are moving and shaking here at happygirl, so stay tuned for many things to come in the near future........

Here we go, my very first post on my spankin new blog! Is there an age limit on this...it feels a little like I do when I am shopping in the junior department at Nordstrom's and at check out I pretend it's not for me!!!!! I am determined to Blog at least three times a week with current sessions I have shot, updates, and little tidbits from my ever fascinating life in Cincinnati OH.
